‘Jolina’ damages P1.5M crops in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY––Tropical Storm “Jolina” has damaged crops worth P1.5 million in Negros Occidental, according to Acting Provincial Agriculturist Dina Genzola.

Floods hit the towns of La Castellana, Isabela,Pontevedra, Hinigaran, Binalbagan, Cauayan, Moises Padilla, and Sipalay City.

Zeaphard Caelian, Disaster Management Program Division head, said most evacuees returned to their homes when the water subsided.

The Philippine Coast Guard announced that the ports in Sagay and Escalante cities have reopened, and sea travel in northern Negros has resumed.
