Bacolod fire destroys school building, supplies for class opening
BACOLOD CITY––A fire on Tuesday night destroyed a school building and its supplies for the opening of classes in Barangay Mansilingan in this city.
Damage was pegged at P1.8 million, said Chief Inspector Rodel Legaspi, city fire marshal.
He said the fire may have started from the electrical wiring in the old building of the Mansilingan Agro-Industrial High School.
School Principal Michael Divinagracia said among those destroyed were about 400 reams of bond paper for the modules of students, books, and science laboratory equipment.
He estimated the cost of the science equipment at about P800,000.
The bond paper for the modules was supposed to be distributed to the teachers on Wednesday.

Classes start Monday next week.
