SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—At least 20 more COVID-19 deaths were registered in this province on Tuesday (Sept. 7), latest data from the provincial health office showed.
The new fatalities raised the province’s COVID-19 death toll to 217, said Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, citing the data.
On the same day, the province reported 47 new COVID-19 cases and 113 recoveries, pushing to 872 the number of its active infections.
Since the pandemic broke out last year, the province has logged a total of 6,687 COVID-19 cases, 5,900 of whom have already recovered from the viral disease.
At least 118,629 residents in the province were vaccinated against COVID-19 and at least 58,748 have received the full dose of the vaccine.
The province needs to inoculate 413,000 residents or 70 percent of 590,800 population to achieve herd immunity.
