MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––The provincial government recorded Tuesday 249 new COVID-19 cases and 16 deaths.

The fatalities were from Apalit (2), Arayat (2), Bacolor (1), Lubao (2), Magalang (2), Mexico (3), Porac (1), Sta. Ana (2), and Sta. Rita (1).

Its latest bulletin showed Pampanga has 5,299 active cases as of Tuesday.

The City of San Fernando has the most active cases at 1,640, followed by Guagua town with 496, and Mabalacat City with 473.

Since the pandemic broke out last year, Pampanga has recorded 35,529 COVID-19 cases, of which 28,443 have recovered, and 1,787 have died.

The numbers do not include Angeles City, a highly urbanized city, which is politically independent of Pampanga.

As of Tuesday, Angeles City has 1,527 active COVID-19 cases based on its health data.

The city also recorded 115 new cases, 86 recoveries, and four deaths on the same day. The fatalities were residents of Anunas, Cutud, Lourdes Northwest, and Pampang villages.

Since last year, Angeles City registered a total of 10,193 COVID-19 cases. Of these, 8,249 have recovered, while 417 have died.
