Pasay City Rep. Calixto positive for COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — Pasay City Rep. Antonino Calixto on Wednesday announced that he tested positive for COVID-19.
Calixto was found to have a mild case of the new coronavirus after he sought medical attention due to a dry cough on Monday.
The congressman is on self isolation at home.
Calixto said his close contacts and immediate family underwent swab tests and tested negative. Still, they required to stay at home for 14 days, according to Pasay City’s public information office.
“Those working in his office, who had personally met him, also underwent swab tests, and they were advised to also stay at home for two weeks,” the PIO said.
Article continues after this advertisementThe lawmaker’s sister, Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, also contracted the virus recently but has since recovered.
