TUGUEGARAO CITY—At least 34 new deaths and 1,007 new cases related to COVID-19 were recorded in the Cagayan Valley region on Sunday (Sept. 5), according to the Department of Health.
Most of these new fatalities were registered in Cagayan province with 30 as it also topped the lists of the local government units in the region with the high number of active cases at 4,684.
It was followed by Isabela province with 2,452 active COVID-19 cases.
Records from the Department of Health-Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development showed that the region’s active cases have already ballooned to 8,358.
So far, the number of COVID-19 deaths in the Cagayan Valley has climbed to 2,261.
The DOH said that the region’s hospital occupancy rate, including intensive care units, was also high and nearing its full capacity. INQ
