17 new cases of Delta variant traced to Cagayan Valley
TUGUEGARAO CITY—Seventeen new cases of the highly contagious Delta variant of COVID-19 were recorded in the Cagayan Valley region, the Department of Health said on Monday (Sept. 6).
The additional Delta variant cases were based on the University of the Philippines-Philippine Genome Center results.
These cases were traced to the provinces of Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino.
Health officials said aggressive tracing was carried out by the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit-Special Action Team involving close contact patients.
On Aug. 30, the DOH also reported 32 other cases of Delta variant in the region. INQ
