BAGUIO CITY––Narvacan, Ilocos Sur Vice Mayor Pablito Sanidad announced Monday, Sept. 6, that he had tested positive for COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Sanidad said he received the result of his reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test confirming his infection on Sunday.

The mayor had just presided over a public hearing about the closure of the Narvacan Public Market for disinfection when he learned about his condition.

Sanidad immediately ordered the lockdown of the Sangguniang Bayan session hall to give way to necessary health measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
