MANILA, Philippines — Eleven out of 17 regions in the country are now under high risk classification for COVID-19 due to the continuous rise of infections, the Department of Health (DOH) said Monday.
These are the National Capital Region, Calabarzon, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Northern Mindanao, Ilocos Region, Davao Region, Caraga, Western Visayas, and SOCCSKSARGEN.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said these areas were recorded to have moderate risk two-week growth COVID-19 growth rate and high risk average daily attack rate.
Meanwhile, the whole country remains under high risk case classification due to the positive two-week growth rate, which is at 32%, and high risk average daily attack rate, which is currently at 15.79 cases per 100,000 population.

Vergeire said Metro Manila maintains a positive two-week growth rate and high risk average daily attack rate, which is up to 33.60 per 100,000 population in the recent week.
She added that the region’s seven-day moving average “shows continuous increase in trend” with an additional 574 cases this week, which is a 13% increase from those recorded in the previous week.
“We now have an average of daily recorded case 4,974 in the NCR,” she said.
