LUCENA CITY – Police arrested a motorcycle rider who yielded over P300,000 worth of shabu at a checkpoint here Sunday night.
Lieutenant Colonel Romulo Albacea, Lucena City police chief, said that police officers manning a checkpoint flagged down motorcycle rider Lindsey Roy Ayapana, 38, for a routine inspection in Barangay Cotta at around 8 p.m.
The suspect tried to evade the lawmen but failed.
As the suspect was about to present his driver’s license, a plastic sachet of shabu popped out from his wallet, report said.
When frisked, authorities found five more sachets of shabu from the suspect.
The confiscated shabu weighed 18.47 grams with an estimated street value of P376,000.
The suspect was detained at the police station jail and will face a formal complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
