2 low pressure areas to bring rain in Northern Luzon, Eastern Visayas
MANILA, Philippines — Two low pressure areas (LPAs) on both sides of the country will bring rains in parts of Northern Luzon and Eastern Visayas on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
As of Sunday afternoon, an LPA was estimated at 190 kilometers west southwest of Basco, Batanes province, while a similar weather system was seen at 465 km east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar province.
Both weather systems will bring cloudy skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms in Eastern Visayas and Caraga regions, Batanes province and Babuyan Islands at the start of the week.
Pagasa warned residents to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
At least two to three storms are expected to enter or affect the country this month, weather forecasters earlier said.
On Monday, localized thunderstorms will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated showers in Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
