He preferred Mondays and Thursdays—plus pocket money.
A 25-year-old man from Caloocan City landed in jail for allegedly extorting P1,000 and sexual favors from a 19-year-old female student and Facebook “friend” after the two had a one-night stand.
Police said that after that first encounter, Mark Anthony Patino threatened to spread on the Internet a purported cell phone video of their sexual act if she would not give in to his demands: More sex on Mondays and Thursdays, plus some cash.
The jobless suspect was arrested in an entrapment operation at a Quezon City mall on Friday afternoon after the woman—reportedly an engineering student from the University of the Philippines—sought help from the police.
PO2 Andrew Hega, the case investigator, yesterday said Patino had undergone inquest proceedings at the prosecutors’ office for robbery-
extortion.
Police confiscated a cell phone from Patino, but it did not contain any sex video. He maintained that, contrary to what he told the student, he never really made such a recording.
The suspect was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Friday in front of SM North Edsa mall by members of the Kamuning police substation after he received marked money from his victim.
Patino and the woman got to know each other through the social networking site Facebook in January.
They later agreed to have an “eyeball”—cyber-lingo for a face-to-face meeting—on Feb. 1, the day they had sex. It was their first and last meeting before Patino was arrested on Friday.
