COVID-19 death toll at PNP hits 108

MANILA, Philippines — COVID-19 infections among police personnel in the Philippine National Police continue to rise with the death toll reaching 108 as of Saturday from 103 fatalities last week.

According to the PNP Health Service (PNPHS), total confirmed COVID-19 cases rose 4.05 percent to 35,351 from last week’s figures.

Of the total cases, 2,075 were active cases, while almost 94 percent have recovered.

The two latest fatalities, Patients 107 and 108, died two days after testing positive for the virus.

According to the PNPHS, 106,174, or 46.88 percent of its personnel were already fully vaccinated, while another 100,187, or 44.99 percent have already received their first dose.
