MANILA, Philippines — The “soft launch” of the VaxCertPH portal for the issuance of digital COVID-19 vaccination certificates in the country will start on September 6, following the approval of the Interagency Taskforce on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

“The IATF likewise approved the September 6, 2021, soft launch of the VaxCertPH,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement.

Individuals who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can get their digital vaccination certificates through the VaxCertPH portal.

Roque added that residents of Metro Manila and Baguio City who are overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and those who will travel abroad will be prioritized in the initial phase of the portal’s operation.

“It will later be opened to the general public and for other purposes at a later time,” Roque added.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) previously said it is looking at October for the full implementation of the digital vaccination card portal.
