LPA spotted east of Mindanao outside PAR; monsoon trough brings rains to western Luzon
MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) was spotted outside the Philippine area of responsibility but may not intensify into a tropical depression, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Saturday.
Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said the LPA was spotted 2,080 kilometers east of Mindanao.
“Sa kasalukuyan, meron po tayong minomonitor na LPA sa labas ng Philippine area of responsibility. For now, for the next 48 hours mababa ang tsansa niya na magdevelop into a tropical depression and for further analysis pa lamang itong LPA na ito,” he said.
