Over 1,600 health protocol violators accosted in Central Luzon

OLONGAPO CITY—At least 1,680 people were apprehended in Central Luzon for violating regulations set by the national inter-agency task force, police said on Thursday (Sept. 2).

Of this number, 1,499 were caught due to improper wearing and not wearing of face masks or face shields in public places, according to the Police Regional Office 3.

The others were warned for violation of social distancing protocols as authorities continue to strictly enforce health restrictions in the region,

According to the PRO3, at least 162 people were denied entry into several areas for lack of necessary travel papers.

In Olongapo City, the police have been strictly monitoring public markets and other areas to enforce the existing health protocols.
