Robbery victims point to watchman
CAMP MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas—Two victims of a robbery-holdup in Bauan, Batangas, pointed to a village watchman as one of three suspects who took some P66,000 from them.
The victims—Gerry Mojares, 32, and Romila Salamat, 28—told police in Batangas City that it was Wilfredo Talabis, chief watchman of Barangay Mahabang Parang in Batangas City, who robbed them of their P60,000 cash and P6,000 check collections.
SPO1 Raymond Dimaapi said the victims were on board their delivery truck in Barangay Sta. Maria past 2 p.m. when a motorcycle with the three suspects on board blocked their way.
The three alighted from their motorcycle and declared a holdup armed with knives.
Dimaapi said while the suspects covered their faces during the holdup, the victims recognized Talabis through his voice, mannerism and the jacket he was wearing.
Police are now hunting Talabis and the two other suspects.
