MANILA, Philippines — Palawan will have partly cloudy skies and rain and thunder due to the effects of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), but the rest of Luzon will have mostly fair weather, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

“Inaasahan natin ang makulimlim na panahon sa Palawan area, dala ito ng monsoon draft o extension ito ay part pa rin ng ITCZ,” said Pagasa weather specialist Raymond Ordinario.

(Expect cloudy weather in the Palawan area due to the monsoon draft or extension, which is still part of the ITCZ.)

“Ang natitirang bahagi ng Luzon including Metro Manila area ay magkakaroon naman ng generally fair weather condition, maliban na lamang sa mga isolated o localized thunderstorms,” he added.

(The rest of Luzon, including the Metro Manila area, will have generally fair weather conditions, except for isolated or localized thunderstorms.)

The Zamboanga Peninsula and western Visayas region of Mindanao will also be experiencing cloudy skies, rain showers, and thunder.

Meanwhile, the remaining parts of the two major islands will experience generally fair weather, but chances of isolated thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon until dawn, remain.
