MANILA, Philippines — A fire struck an office building along Edsa in Mandaluyong City Thursday morning.
The first alarm was raised at the 50-story Mega Tower beside SM Megamall at 10:39 a.m., the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said.
A report from DZBB radio showed people who were trapped in the higher floors of the building breaking the glass windows, likely for ventilation.
Some social media posts indicated that there were people who were at the tower’s rooftop.
The cause of the fire could not be immediately determined.
