3 more infants contract COVID-19 in Tarlac
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Three more infants and five other children contracted COVID-19 in Tarlac, the provincial government disclosed on Tuesday, Aug. 31.
According to the latest health data, the youngsters are among the 96 new cases in the province.
The infants include a 7-month-old boy from San Jose town, an 11-month-old girl from Camiling town, and a 1-year-old boy also from Camiling.
Healthcare workers said the three babies developed mild symptoms. Two are under quarantine while the 11-month-old is confined in a hospital.
The five other youngsters, aged 2-14, are residents of San Clemente town and Tarlac City. Four of them developed mild symptoms while the 11-year-old is asymptomatic. They are all under quarantine.
Article continues after this advertisementTarlac also registered 64 recoveries and two deaths on Tuesday. The fatalities were from Paniqui town and Tarlac City.
A total of 11,782 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the province since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 2,046 remain active, 9,290 have recovered, and 446 have died.
Tarlac City has 701 active cases while the towns of Capas and Victoria towns have 221 and 168 active cases, respectively.
