SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Four carpool drivers trying to bring passengers to Metro Manila were apprehended at a checkpoint in Subic town on Tuesday (Aug. 31), police said

Col. Romano Cardiño, police provincial director, identified the drivers as Reyam Valdez, 37; John Nicolo Dela Torre, 24; Andrew Edañol, 41; and Michael Evangelista, 47, all residents of this province.

Cardiño said the drivers failed to present necessary documents and permits to operate their vehicles for public utility.

At least 19 of their passengers who had travel papers were forced to find another ride, while those with no travel requirements had to return home.

The drivers would face charges for violating the anti-colorum act and the inter-agency task force guidelines on social distancing.
