4 nabbed for illegal fishing in Bataan
MARIVELES, Bataan — Four fishermen here were arrested by the Bataan Maritime Police on Monday for alleged dynamite fishing.
Glendo, 51; Gilbert, 42; Jonathan, 30; and Giemel, 26, all surnamed Malaras and residents of Rosario town in Cavite province, were placed in police custody.
Maj. Leoncio Alcantara, Bataan Maritime Police chief, said the four fishermen used five bottles of improvised dynamite.
Ruth Badilles, municipal fish examiner, confirmed that the fish found in the possession of the suspects were caught using dynamite.
The suspects would be charged with violation of fisheries code, police said.
