LIGAO CITY—Albay Third District Rep. Fernando Cabredo announced via social media that he is now in isolation at a private hospital in Legazpi City after he tested positive for COVID-19.
Cabredo disclosed Tuesday on his Facebook page that his reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test came back positive.
He said he announced the result to make his constituents aware and for easy contact tracing of those he had encountered.
He said he had the test done in Sorsogon province for travel purposes, as he was to leave for Metro Manila.
“I’m confined now at a private hospital in Legazpi and experiencing konting ubo at sipon (a bit of cough and cold),” he said in a phone interview.
Despite testing positive, Cabredo said his driver and two councilors he met with recently “are well and all negative for COVID-19.”
He said he had not met with his family several days before he tested positive, which excluded them from his close contacts.
Cabredo said he had completed his two doses of the Sinovac vaccine in June.
