Galvez: PH to receive 54.5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses in September, October

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines is expected to receive about 54.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines in the next two months, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said Tuesday.

During a briefing with President Rodrigo Duterte aired on Tuesday morning, Galvez said the country is expecting 25 million doses to be delivered in September and 29.5 million doses in October.

The September deliveries include 12 million doses of Sinovac, five million doses of Pfizer, two million doses of Moderna and one million doses of AstraZeneca.

The country will likewise receive one million doses of single-shot Sputnik Light, as well as four million donated COVID-19 vaccines from other countries and the COVAX facility.

Meanwhile, for October, the Philippines will receive 10 million doses each of Sinovac and Pfizer, three million Moderna vccines, another one million of AstraZeneca and one million Sputnik Light.

Other countries which Galvez did not specify will likewise donate 1.5 million doses, while COVAX will give three million doses.

Galvez said the Philippines has so far received 48.8 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, 33.1 million of which have already been administered.

Of the administered doses, 19.3 million were first doses while 13.7 were second doses.
