MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo announced on Tuesday that she has tested negative for COVID-19 after getting exposed to a confirmed patient.

“Got my negative RT-PCR test result already. I’ve been exposed so many times but the latest was my closest call to date. So thank God, really!! I was again spared,” Robredo said in a statement.

However, the vice president mentioned that she will continue her 14-day quarantine despite the negative result in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines.

“For the next 7 days, I will continue to be working from home. Actually, the first 7 days flew by so quickly because my days have been filled with zoom meetings and video shoots for speeches,” she said.

“I’ve been raring to go back to the office because I have a gazillion things to do,” she added.

Robredo started her quarantine last Tuesday, based on a Facebook post published on Wednesday. She underwent COVID-19 testing on Monday.
