2 drug suspects busted, yield P763k shabu in Lucena

LUCENA CITY––Two drug suspects yielded over P763,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) when busted Monday morning in this city.

Lucena police chief Lt. Col. Romulo Albacea identified the suspects in a report as Allan Ian Diaz, 38, and John Mark Magdalena, 23, both residents of this city and on the list of street-level meth peddlers.

Anti-illegal drugs operatives arrested the duo at 10:50 a.m. after they sold P5,000 worth of shabu to a poseur buyer in a transaction in Barangay Ibabang Iyam.

Authorities seized 14 sachets of meth weighing 37.42 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P254,456 and P763,368 in the street market.

Reformed drug users and former clients of the suspects tipped them off about their illegal activity, the police said.

The police are conducting further investigations to determine the source of the illegal drugs.

The suspects are facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
