BACOLOD CITY––A policeman assigned at the anti-drugs unit was gunned down Sunday by still unknown assailants onboard a motorcycle along Rosario Street in Barangay 38, Bacolod City.
Staff Sergeant Joseph Nepomoceno, 37, was riding his motorcycle when shot several times by the perpetrators, said Maj. Ramel Sarona, Police Station 1 commander.
Nepomuceno suffered gunshot wounds on his face, back, and breast.
He was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Investigators have yet to establish the identities of the assailants as well as the motive behind the killing.
