Warm and humid Monday weather nationwide – Pagasa

Monday weather

MANILA, Philippines — Fair weather is expected across the country on Monday as the effects of the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) are expected to weaken over the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

“Bahagyang mababawasan ang epekto ng [ITCZ], asahan ‘yung maaraw na medyo maalinsangang panahaon sa nakararaming bahagi ng Luzon, maliban na lang sa mga ilang pulo ulong dagliang pagulan o pagkidlat at pagkulog,” said Pagasa senior weather specialist Chris Perez

(The effect of the ITCZ will be slightly weakened. Expect sunny and relatively humid weather in most parts of Luzon, except for a few sudden rain showers, lightning and thunder.)

The entire Visayas and Mindanao will also experience weakened effects of the ITCZ on Monday, with generally hot and humid weather to be experienced.

Rain showers caused by the ITCZ, however, should still be expected especially in the afternoon and evening.

Below are the temperature ranges in key cities/areas across the country for Friday, according to Pagasa:

• Metro Manila: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
• Baguio City: 16 to 25 degrees Celsius
• Laoag City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
• Tuguegarao: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
• Legazpi City: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
• Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
• Tagaytay: 21 to 29 degrees Celsius
• Kalayaan Islands: 27 to 31 degrees Celsius
• Iloilo City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
• Cebu: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
• Tacloban City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
• Cagayan De Oro City: 23 to 32 degrees Celsius
• Zamboanga City: 23 to 33 degrees Celsius
• Davao City: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius

No gale warning is raised in the country’s coasts but moderate sea conditions are expected in the northern seaboard of Luzon.

However, Perez warned of sudden thunderstorms in the open sea.

“‘Yung mga biglaang thunderstorm activity sa gitna ng laot… ay puwedeng magdulot ng biglaang pagbugso ng hangin na siya namang magreresulta sa biglaang pagalon ng karagatan,” said Perez.

(Sudden thunderstorm activities in the open sea may trigger rough waves.)
