Tarlac’s active COVID-19 cases jump to 1,900

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Tarlac’s active COVID-19 cases rose to a record-high 1,900 since the pandemic broke out last year, after the provincial government recorded 110 new cases on Saturday.

The province only had 457 active cases a month ago which meant a 316 percent increase.

The new COVID-19 cases include a 9-month-old girl from Sta. Ignacia town, a 2-year-old boy from Tarlac City, and a 2-year-old girl from Capas town. All three infants manifested mild symptoms and are currently under quarantine.

The capital Tarlac City has the most active cases with 625, followed by Capas (220) and Victoria (158).

Tarlac , which is currently under general community quarantine, has so far registered a total of 11,457 COVID-19 cases, including 9,118 recoveries and 439 deaths.
