MANILA, Philippines — A rookie police officer and a civilian were accused of taking turns in sexually molesting a 19-year-old female, who allegedly broke quarantine rules, in Mariveles, Bataan, according to Brig. Gen Valeriano de Leon, chief of the Central Luzon Police Regional Office (PRO 3).
The suspects were identified as Patrolman Elmer Tuazon Jr., 25; and Armando Dimaculangan, 53, a marshal team leader.
De Leon said that Tuazon and Dimaculangan accosted the teenager at a quarantine control point in a Barangay Batangas II in Mariveles on Friday.
In a separate statement on Saturday, Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), said “the victim was then taken to the boarding house of the policeman where the two took turns in molesting the victim.”
The teenager reported the incident which led to the arrest of two suspects, according to De Leon.
De Leon said the suspects would face charges — Tuazon for rape and Dimaculanga for acts of lasciviousness.
Meanwhile, an inquest proceeding was conducted before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor at Balanga City, Bataan on Saturday, according to a progress report from Mariveles chief of police Lt. Col. Cesar Lumiwes.
The Assistant State Prosecutor has found probable cause for rape and acts of lasciviousness based on the progress report. He recommended the filing of charges against the two suspects.
