Sorsogon drug suspect nabbed, over P3 M shabu seized
LEGAZPI CITY – A man tagged by police as a high-value drug suspect was arrested and yielded more than P3.7 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Castilla, Sorsogon on Friday afternoon, police said Saturday.
Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said Anthony Ballon, 35, a resident of Ligao City, Albay, sold 50 grams of shabu worth around P340,000 to an undercover agent in Barangay Cumadcad at around 5 p.m.
Anti-narcotics operatives also recovered a total of 550 grams of shabu worth an estimated P3,740,000 and a loaded gun.
The suspect was identified as one of the big suppliers of shabu in the provinces of Albay and Sorsogon.
He pretended to be a car-for-rent driver fetching passengers from Bicol to Manila and vice versa for his operation, Calubaquib added.
