MANILA, Philippines — Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has approved the release of funds worth P64,547,000 for the distribution of city cash allowance to senior citizens in the sixth district.
Mayor Isko signed on Friday, August 27, the approval to begin the distribution of city financial aid to more than 22,636 seniors in Manila’s sixth district.
The Manila mayor said the distribution of financial assistance will begin on Sunday, August 29, 2021.
The financial assistance for seniors is among the priority programs created under the administration of Mayor Isko and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan.
As of writing, about 93,567 senior citizens have already received P3,000 each, totaling to about P261,931,500.00 released by the local government.
Overall data for claimed city cash allowance are as follows:
- District 1 – 27,994 seniors / P76,501,000.00
- District 2 – 18,150 seniors / P51,606,500.00
- District 3 – 14,409 seniors / P41,617,000.00
- District 4 – 20,418 seniors / P58,876,000.00
- District 5 (partial/ongoing) – 12,596 seniors / P36,331,000.00
- Total distributed – 93,567 seniors / P261,931,500.00
This is on top of the aid package currently being distributed to Manila’s senior citizens, which includes one can of Ensure milk and vitamin supplements.
“Ginagawa ito ng lungsod para mapanatag ang ating mga lolo at lola, lalo na ngayong Enhanced Community Quarantine o ECQ,” the mayor said.
“May financial assistance pa, mayroon din tayong Ensure na gatas at vitamins na ibinibigay to reinforce their immune system. Sila ang isa sa mga vulnerable ngayong pandemic,” he added.
