Vico Sotto shares photos of kids under COVID-19 quarantine in Pasig
MANILA, Philippines — Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto shared on Twitter on Wednesday photos of children staying in his city’s Centralized Quarantine Facility for COVID-19 patients.
“Some activities for the kids at our Centralized Quarantine Facility,” Sotto said.
According to the mayor, 24 children are staying in the facility.

The Philippines has just had another surge in COVID-19 cases due to the more transmissible Delta variant of the coronavirus.
Here and abroad more children are becoming infected, particularly with the Delta variant.
As of Aug. 22, the Department of Health recorded 200,901 Filipinos aged 19 years old and below who have been infected since the pandemic was broke out in 2020. So far, 510 children have already died.
Earlier this month, the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) in Manila also reported that children with COVID-19 had become a growing concern.
On Aug. 19, Save the Children Philippines, a child rights advocacy group, called attention to the increasing number of children with COVID-19 in the country. It urged the government to address the growing problem by ensuring faster COVID-19 immunization of adults to prevent them from infecting the children.
At the moment, minors are still not allowed to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
