Caloocan mayor Malapitan tests positive for coronavirus

MANILA, Philippines — Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan on Wednesday said he tested positive for coronavirus.
“Ikinalulungkot kong ipabatid na ako ay nakumpirmang positibo sa COVID -19,” Malapitan said in a statement. “Ako ay nasa maayos na kalagayan at kasalukuyang nagpapagaling.”
(I am sad to announce that I am a confirmed to be COVID-19 positive. I am in a stable condition and is currently recovering.)
Malapitan also encouraged his close contacts in the past few days to undergo self quarantine and swab tests.
The mayor also said his close contacts could call the COVID-19 hotlines 09668274519 / 09478834430.
“Umasa po kayo na ang inyong lingkod ay patuloy na nakaantabay sa mga nagaganap at pangyayari sa ating lungsod habang patuloy ang aking komunikasyon sa mga iba’t ibang sangay ng ating pamahalaan,” Malapitan said.
