MANILA, Philippines — Medical students on Tuesday called for the suspension of the Physician Licensure Exam scheduled for September, citing the rise in COVID-19 cases as a potential threat to test takers and examiners.
“We, the different medical and allied health councils, organizations and individuals, fully support the PLE takers’ pleas for reconsideration of scheduling and postponement of the Physician Licensure Examination in September 2021 amid the worst surge yet of active COVID-19 cases in the country,” the Philippine Medical Students’ Association (PSMA) said in a statement.
The PSMA said the exam should be rescheduled.
