MANILA, Philippines — The government has administered a total of 30,693,019 doses of COVID-19 vaccines since the vaccination drive started on March 1, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., the nation’s vaccine manager, said on Tuesday during the taped weekly briefing with President Rodrigo Duterte.
According to Galvez,17,495,330 individuals have already had their first dose and 13,197,689 their second dose as of Aug. 23.
“We now have 13,197,689 fully vaccinated, this represents 17.11 percent for the total 70 percent of the Philippine target population. And then 11.98 percent or almost 12 percent for the total population ng Pilipinas,” Galvez said, speaking partly in Filipino.
Meanwhile, the national government has averaged 444,042 vaccine jabs per day in August, Galvez said.
He added that they were 1,684 total vaccination centers nationwide.
As of Aug. 24, the country’s total COVID-19 cases was at 1,869,691, with 127,703 active cases and 32,264 deaths.
