LUCENA CITY — Police arrested two suspected marijuana pushers in a buy-bust operation in Tiaong town in Quezon province Tuesday afternoon.
Police Major Francis Aldrich Garcia, Tiaong police chief, in a report identified the suspects as Bartolome Desipeda, 55, and Jojo Colot, 32, both residents of the locality.
The report said the suspects were collared by anti-narcotics agents after they sold a pack of dried marijuana leaves or “weeds” to a poseur buyer inside a subdivision in Barangay (village) Lalig around 1:40 p.m.
Authorities seized four plastic sachets of marijuana worth P1,260 from the suspects.
The suspects were detained and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
On Sunday, August 22, a big-time marijuana supplier was busted in neighboring Candelaria town and yielded P278,000 worth of weeds.
