Active COVID-19 cases in Angeles City top 1,200
ANGELES CITY––The number of active COVID-19 cases in this city reached 1,210 after the local government recorded 67 new patients on Monday, Aug. 23.
The city also recorded 20 new recoveries and two deaths. The fatalities were residents of Balibago and Cutcut villages.
The new COVID-19 patients are from 23 of this city’s 33 villages led by Balibago, with 12, Pandan with seven, and Malabanias with six.
Sto. Domingo village has the most active cases at 122, followed by Pandan, with 96, and Balibago with 87.
This city has registered 8,911 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 7,331 have recovered, while 370 have died.
Article continues after this advertisementMayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. ordered last week the engineer’s office to conduct a disinfection of the city.
“This is to lower the risk of the public from contracting COVID-19 by sanitizing the surroundings and maintaining a cleaner environment,” he said.
