MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will have to decide which of the two factions of the ruling party PDP-Laban is the legitimate party representative.
Comelec chair Sheriff Abas said he was aware that that would not be the end of the PDP-Laban leadership wrangling between Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi and Sen. Manny Pacquiao, who both claim to be PDP-Laban president.
“That will be bloody because it’s like boxing. That’s the Pacquiao-Cusi fight,” Abas said.
“We will see who is the legitimate. The Comelec will decide based on the documents and based on the law and the constitution and by-laws of the party,” he added.
