MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo personally visited volunteer medical workers at Pasig City’s Vaccine Express located in Manggahan High School to thank them for working hard to vaccinate indigents against the coronavirus.
Photos from the Office of the Vice President (OVP) showed Robredo talking to staffers on Sunday, August 22, which is the last day of the two-day inoculation initiative in Pasig City for the eligible population under the A5 category.
“Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday afternoon, August 22, visited the Vaccine Express – Pasig site at Manggahan High School to personally thank the doctors, nurses, and medical students who volunteered for the initiative,” OVP said.
“This rollout, a collaboration between the Office of the Vice President and the City Government of Pasig, catered to the A5 category, or those who fall under the ‘most vulnerable and indigent population’,” it added.
The Vaccine Express is a program launched by Robredo’s office, where OVP would partner with local governments for a smoother administration of anti-coronavirus vaccines. Under the plan, OVP provides the system and the manpower to support local governments while the vaccine would be sourced from the city or municipality’s stock.
