CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela––At least 48 barangays in this city were placed under localized lockdown from Aug. 23 to 28 to contain the spread of COVID-19 cases, an official said.
In an executive order, Mayor Josemarie Diaz said the move was necessary as the city’s active COVID-19 cases rose to 112 on Sunday, Aug. 22.
Over 100 more were suspected to be virus carriers based on their antigen tests and were waiting for the confirmatory test results.
The city health office said the average daily attack rate (ADAR) here was 6.93. ADAR is the number of new daily cases per 100,000 population and is considered high risk if it is 7 and above. INQ
