MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted an emergency use authorization (EUA) to Russia’s single-dose COVID-19 vaccine, Sputnik Light.
This was announced by National Task Force against COVID-19 chief implementer and vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. on Monday and was confirmed by FDA Director General Eric Domingo.
“I’d like to announce that the EUA for Sputnik V, Sputnik Light na one dose na siya ay na-aprubahan na po ng FDA,” Galvez said in a Palace briefing held in San Mateo, Rizal.
Meanwhile, Domingo told INQUIRER.net that the FDA gave its approval for the Russian vaccine on August 20.
Russia’s vaccine maker Gamaleya Institute applied for an EUA for the Sputnik Light vaccine earlier this month.
