Motorcyclist in Quezon road mishap arrested for illegal gun possession

LUCENA CITY – A motorcyclist who was injured in an accident was eventually arrested for illegal possession of a firearm in Tiaong, Quezon on Sunday.
The Tiaong police said Melchor Gutierrez, 41, lost control of his motorcycle and crashed on the pavement in Barangay Quipot around 7 p.m.
While being attended to by rescuers, a police investigator noticed a caliber .38 revolver tucked in Gutierrez’s waist.
Gutierrez failed to provide the required permit and licenses for the loaded gun, which led to his arrest.
Police also found out that Gutierrez had no driver’s license while the motorcycle dod not have plate number and registration documents from the Land Transportation Office.
The suspect was detained and is facing the corresponding charges.
