Alleged illegal crude oil trader shot dead in Quezon

LUCENA CITY – A 40-year-old man who was allegedly engaged in crude oil pilferage was shot and killed inside his car here on Sunday night, police said.

Lucena police reported that Ferdinand Gallioso, a city resident, was found dead from bullet wounds inside his car in Barangay (village) Ibabang Talim around 8:05 p.m.

Report said the victim was repeatedly shot by still unidentified gunmen armed with caliber .45 gun as he was driving his vehicle along the eco-tourism road.

The victim lost control of the vehicle that consequently landed on the muddy rice field along the side of the highway.

Citing information from the victim’s wife, police said Gallioso was “involved in an illegal trade of crude oil.”

Police are conducting further investigation to unmask and arrest the suspects.
