MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm Isang gains strength as it moves northwestward towards the Philippine Sea, the state weather service said Saturday.

In its 11 am bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Isang is unlikely to cause a weather disturbance in the country, which is expected to have generally fair weather.

“No tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) is currently in effect,” Pagasa said in its advisory.

The hoisting of TCWS in any land area in the country also remains unlikely, Pagasa said.

Isang, with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 90 kph, was last detected at 605 km east-northeast of Basco or Itbayat, Batanes.
