Mayor places Allacapan town hall in Cagayan province on lockdown

TUGUEGARAO CITY––The town hall of Allacapan in Cagayan province was placed on lockdown for 10 days after 27 of its employees tested positive for COVID-19, officials said Thursday, Aug. 19.

In a statement, Mayor Harry Florida said he had ordered the employees, except those in the health service and rescue operations, to work from home.

Allacapan’s active COVID-19 cases rose to 95 as of Thursday, and most of these are in Centro West and Cataratan villages.

Curfew from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. has been imposed on Centro West to avoid a virus outbreak.
