Over 7,800 Angeles City residents jabbed vs COVID-19 in single day

ANGELES CITY––Some 7,874 residents here were vaccinated Thursday against COVID-19, the city government announced.

The city used the blended vaccination scheme, which involves a mobile bus clinic and health workers dispatched to villages to inoculate residents while meeting the regular schedules at the City Colleges of Angeles and the Angeles City National High School.

As of Aug. 18, the city government had administered full doses of vaccines to 69,635 residents here, while 123,121 have received the initial dose.

This city registered 111 new COVID-19 cases and 51 recoveries on Thursday, bringing its current active cases to 1,049.

It recorded 8,574 cases since the onset of the pandemic last year. Of these, 7,162 have recovered, while 363 have died.

Sto. Domingo village, which has 109 active cases, registered 17 new ones on Thursday.

Other villages with high numbers of active cases include Balibago (92), Cutcut (74), and Pandan (65). INQ
