MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––The City of San Fernando recorded Thursday 118 new COVID-19 cases, its highest single-day record since March last year.
This tally should remind residents to stay at home if they do not have essential things to do outside and avoid mass gatherings, the city government said in a statement.
“In situations like this, discipline and the cooperation of everyone are necessary to arrest the ballooning of cases in the city,” the local government added.
The new patients minus 32 recoveries on Thursday raised the active cases in this city to 1,213, the highest in the provincial capital to date.
It has recorded 7,269 cases since the pandemic began last year, of which 80 percent or 5,840 have recovered, and 2.97 percent or 216 have died.
Dolores village has the most active cases at 156, followed by the neighboring San Agustin village with 145, and Bulaon and Calulut villages with 82 each.
On Thursday, the province registered 20 new cases in San Agustin village. INQ
