ORMOC CITY—An alleged military asset was gunned down Thursday while feeding his pigs in Barangay Pancho Villa, Sogod town in Southern Leyte.

Jaime Hinay, 48, a farmer, succumbed to gunshot wounds on his body, according to Major Al John Teddy Llanes, chief of the Sogod Police Station.

Initial investigation showed that Hinay was feeding his hogs when two unidentified assailants shot him to death.

Responding police conducted a hot pursuit operation to apprehend the perpetrators.
