6 cops promoted a year after dismantling drug syndicate in Bulacan
CITY OF MALOLOS—Six policemen were promoted to the next higher rank a year after their successful anti-illegal drugs operation in Marilao town, Bulacan province.
The operation led to the dismantling of a large-scale drug cartel and the seizure of P5.6 billion worth of “shabu” (crystal meth)
In a statement Tuesday, Aug. 17, the National Police Commission (Napolcom) said it approved the promotions of Lt. Hazel Mabilin, Senior Master Sergeant Christopher Buenafe, Staff Sergeants Eduardo Dolleton, Lorenzo Catarata and Elfvin Siriban, and Cpl. Paulo Levin Nerviza. They all belong to the Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group in Camp Crame.
Napolcom said the team infiltrated and discovered the safe houses of the drug syndicate led by Chinese national Yuwen Cai, alias “Tatang,” and seized 827 kilos of shabu on June 2, 2020.
The statement said the lawmen were promoted because of their “acts of conspicuous courage and gallantry at the risk of their lives above and beyond the call of duty.”
